Things in Numenberg
As far as anyone could tell something had crash landed out in the fields of numenberg. What was it? Well, that was the mystery. When I came into town after the incident had been reported it seemed that no one had remembered anything about it, besides it actually happening. My first day in this weirdo town started like this. I drove in and parked in front of a hardware store on the downtown Main Street. I saw a little lady walking with a big smile on her face. Big flowy dress and her hair was all done up. I got out of my car and approached her.
“Ma’m” I said “Do you know what fell out of the sky the other day” She turned to me with that big smile.
“Oh, no sir, I have no clue what it was, are you sure it fell out of the sky? And over Numbernberg?” I had my notepad at the ready and looked at her.
“Well, of course I know it was Numenberg. The whole town pretty much cried out for help, pictures and eye witnesses. It was a huge thing. Just two days ago. Here, in this town” The lady looked me, then checked her watch.
“No, I don’t think so” she said and walked away.Okay, this lady was just a bit off. So I went to the local diner and sat at the bar. A couple old fellas’ were having some sandwiches next to me. I pulled out my notebook and got my pen ready.
“Hey, fellas, I was wondering if you could help me out with the thing that fell out of the sky the other day, it was a big event here” They both looked at each other and then at me.
The man closest me said “Yeah, not sure about that one. You sure it was here?”
The other man jumped in “Yeah, I saw it, but it wasn’t here” My eyes started spinning.
“Look fellas, you saw it, but it wasn’t here? What does that mean?” The waitress came to take my order.
“One question, yes, the ham sandwich, one moment” I took a sip of water “Do you remember a thing, who knows what is, falling out of the sky the other day. Here, in Numenberg.” The waitress thought for a moment and gasped. This is it. My pen was digging into the paper.
“No, your sandwich will be up in a minute honey” she said and turned away. I rubbed my eyes and flipped my notebook shut. Where did I go wrong in life.
“Excuse me sir” a voice came from behind me “I might have some answers for you” I gave a heavy sigh and gestured to the stool next to me.
“I guess I will take what ever you got” I reluctantly flipped open my notepad and turned. The man looked at me, but not with two eyes, but four of them. Another pair stacked right on top of the other. His skin was a grayish purple and he smiled at me charmingly.
“You will get your story, but I am afraid that things for you are about to get a little bit confusing” His eyes strolled around and looked at each person he could see “very confusing”
